Activity based learning is an active teaching learning methodology. It is more useful in primary classes. Teachers can make teaching more interesting by this method. Many activities should be done in our schools. Activities bring activeness and smartness among the students. Teachers should make their teaching activity based and interesting. Hence, we know that “Education means all round development of the child”. So, we have to arrange several activities to develop the student's personalities in many ways. Activity-Based Learning Methodology (A.B.L.) is a very intriguing methodology. Now it is being introduced in primary schools in many states of India. Tamilnadu (India) is the best example, where a lot of work have done on Activity-Based learning (A.B.L.) and Active Learning Methodology (A.L.M.).

Activity Based Learning in Primary education and Kids Education:

Active learning is more effective than other methodologies. It is very useful in primary education and kids education programs. The learning games and another games related activities are very useful in primary school teaching and kids education. Many schools have prepared a framework for project-based learning for classes. Teachers have to understand the relationship between learning and games. They have to discover the new learning games and have to use games in learning. Nowadays, different teaching methodologies are being discovered. Project based learning is one of them. It includes a wide range of students assessment opportunities. New education policy is aware about its scope and spirit.

So, teachers have to discover the new and captivating methodologies according to the student's learning level and their interests.

In smart school learning and smart class learning where education is provided by computers, internet and by multimedia, there are numerous educational websites providing the interactive learning environment for learners. These educational websites designed in such a manner where learning is a fun. Once students learn to operate the website, they are enabling to learn individually. In such an environment, the teachers' role is to facilitate in learning.

A.B.L. for Kids

The teacher has to make a different teaching strategy in such type of activity-based learning. In primary and kids education, teacher has to make a different learning strategy, such as fun learning activities for kids, active learning games, active learning lesson plans etc. A.B.L. is very suitable for kids. Teacher has to manage his active and smart classroom with innovative teaching learning resources and active methods of learning. He has to plan active learning lesson plans, activity-based learning materials, active learning examples and also activity based educational games.

IN and OUT Activity for Students

I want to describe a great learning activity which can you use in your school. It is one of the most popular educational learning games. The activity is named as To have control of the movement of jumping forwards and backwards. This activity is based on to listen to and follow instructions. This activity is for a large group. The materials you can use in this activity is chalk, but you may use another materials for drawing the circles on the ground.

How to prepare for this activity?

Make a large circle on the floor. You can modify this activity with several interesting types as well. Yes, you can use this activity for learning metals and non-metals, living and non-living things, or you can use this for teaching language.

Make students stand on the outline of the circle. As an instructor, you can stand in the middle. When you call 'in', the students must have to jump forward into the circle, and when you call 'out', the students must jump backwards out the circle. Start the game at first, saying 'IN' and 'OUT' slowly. Go faster and change the sequence of your calls when are comfortable. The student who makes a mistake is out of the game. Continue the game until only one student is left.
